The Cheapskate's Guide to Paris

This is the second installment in a series of posts on visiting European countries and cities on the cheap. The first installment: the Cheapskate's Guide to Ireland.

Ah, Paris. The City of Lights, the City of Love. The world's number one tourist destination. But is it possible to visit Paris without breaking the bank? Absolutely.

The Paris on A Shoestring web site explains how to visit Paris on the cheap. How to get from the airport to the city, where to sleep, what to eat, how to travel within Paris, what to see, how to get free Internet access in Paris. You name it, they have a cheap way of doing it. This web site is a must for the student traveler or budget traveler.

The site is very extensive, with itineraries and things to do in any given month of the year. They mention off-the-beaten-path visits as well as popular tourist attractions (including the cheapest times to go and bus and metro routes to get there). And all without going broke in the process. If you are planning on visiting Paris on the cheap, the Paris on a Shoestring web site is a great place to start.
